Edit: it doesn't cut the potato chip proportionally. There's a little elevation near the blade that makes all the slices thick at one end and thinner at the other. While making potato chips , the chips wouldn't fry properly because of this annoying flaw. I have realised this after months. The slices are never proportionate with this slicer. However the slicer is quite well made and sturdy but if you are making chips then i don't think you should go for this item. It's a bit costly too.Since its made of metal there are sharp edges which may cut your finger as it did to mine.
