It is leak proof, as expected. But what makes it better than others is that the tumbler itself has a lip around the rim and the clips on the lid lock on to that. This is better than the ones that come with a plastic gasket around the rim. With use the gaskets slip a little and the lid doesn't lock properly. No such problem here!
