Low cost but the workmanship is very poor indeed. It is brass however but doesn't necessarily sound like brass if you know what I mean. It does make a sound though which is all we needed. It appeared smaller than I expected although I didn't really check this when I bought it and it is very light. I am assuming that the brass sheet sed is thin. It is rigid enough though.
