Its suitable for single person. I cooked Rice, vegetables and many tired idli without using cloth it seems bcuz in that plate having very smal holes. There is no vistle, however the lid is lose so that all vapour wil evaporate in that gap. On whole its good product, easy to wash, weight less.. Happy with this☺

Awesome product. I was in search of steel idli cooker for long time. Initially I was little concerned due to no whistle or no air to pass. Finally I'm very happy with this product its top notch. Idlis are awesome yes it is medium size and even my modaks came out well. And I used kadai for cooking too there was no burnt under the kadai. Loved it.
